Programmes in African languages better reach women and young adults
According to a Kantar study conducted at the end of 2021 in 19 towns and localities in the Sahel, RFI’s programmes in African languages are followed each week by more than half of inhabitants aged 15 and over.
These programmes, which are widely listened to by women, young people and adults with no formal education, not only provide news for the local population but also talk about education, the environment and health, themes that are dear to the mission of France Médias Monde. Nearly two thirds of listeners say that they are sensitive to these subjects of public interest.
